K-State kicked ass!

It's like Texas didn't even show up! Normally Texas would have won.
I'm really still in shock over this.

That's all, back to your blog stalking........

Behr.com

Ok, so awhile back I posted that we found this site that you could upload pictures of your rooms and put whatever color on them. Sounds great! And the cost? Only $4.95. Considering we are doing almost every room in our house, we decided it was well worth $5.

Until we paid it. We tried to use the site. Horrible!! I don't advise anyone using this unless they have at least an hours' worth of patience for each picture. I personally don't have 5 minutes worth of patience.

We even called the costumer support. They flat out told us it takes up to 45 minutes for the picture to load correctly.

I did however find some time one day. I used the color we already painted our hallway with. Just to see if it was accurate. NOT! It did not look anything similar to what we did.

So, don't waste your $5.00, just go to the store and get the samples.

I'm remembering how much I loved Algebra in school

But, I'm hating it now. My daughter hates math. I hated math. But, she is doing Algebra, and I loved that. But, they call it math, so she just assumes she hates it because she hates math.

At the beginning of the school year, she decided she did not want to do her math homework. So, naturally, she now has an F. I'm not even going to go into how grounded she is.

Her teacher finally told me at 5 pm on Friday why she has an F. Because she had 7 assignments she never turned in. Well, school was already out, so I couldn't tell her to bring her book home.

She brought it home yesterday and today. She gets home around 2:45 pm. Both days we have been doing her work from the time she gets home until 9:30 pm. Mind you, her bedtime is 8 pm (she has to get up at 5:30 am).

So, it has been a very long week already. She is just not grasping the concepts, and since I know them, and have known them since forever ago, it is really hard for me to explain them to her in a way she gets. Without me getting frustrated.

And since she is doing hours of this stuff and getting to bed late, you can imagine her temperament. Especially when she doesn't grasp something. She was crying earlier saying she was dumb. I just don't know what to do! I've emailed her teacher asking if we can get a tutor to help her. Math has never been good for her, but in elementary school, the teachers noticed that and helped her extra. That doesn't seem to be happening now that she's in middle school.

BTW, she is 11. Just a great age all around.

The Hallway is painted!

Oops, guess I should have rotated the picture first. This is the beginning of the walls getting painted.
The dark color is the primer. The lighter color is the old.
I don't know what that green is at the bottom.
It's all painted!
You can see in this one, we primed the trim with pure white. We haven't done anything to the door, yet. What a nasty difference in color. When we get it all painted white, it should look really good.

Next, after the walls are good and dry, we are painting the trim pure white. Right now they are an off white. And we are buying all new interior doors, the ones that are already white. The outside door won't be replaced, we're just going to paint it white. Maybe some year we'll get a new one.

After the trim/doors are done, I will put the picture frames back up. But first, I'm painting all those frames white. At the suggestion of someone who saw my before pictures on here.

We feel so accomplished! The kitchen is cleaned, the living room put back together, our hallway walls look awesome, and all our wedding gifts have finally found homes.

The Chiefs won!!

I'm really not happy about it, as I don't like them. But, it is a good thing. According to DH, is they had kept loosing, they would have gotten first on the next round of picks. Or something like that.
So, apparently the win was bad for him, therefore good for me!

For those of you who don't know, DH is a KC fan, while I love Denver. Quite the rivalry in these parts. When they play each other, we watch in public. We even have some people call us to make sure we're both still alive.

Unfortunately, I no longer have a Denver Jersey. I bought one, back when Plummer started, and was good. That, of course, didn't last long, and now I can't wear the jersey. I'm going to be a little more picky when it's time to buy my next one.

The last 2 years we've gone to KC when Denver has played there. Denver lost both times. I told DH the next time we go see them play, it will be in Denver. They always seem to win against KC at home.

Strippers must have some great muscle tone

Last night some friends and I went to a pole dancing class. It's a spin-off of the the S-Factor out in CA.

12 girls, some beer and 4 poles. It was a blast! I'm pretty sure we're going to do it again. They have a 6 week course.......

It's a great workout. My arms are so sore today! Painting has not been fun. I can't blame it all on the dancing though.

I think I had 2-3 beers, a margarita and 2 glasses of wine. I was not feeling well this morning. I need to remember I'm not a teenager anymore.

There were pictures taken, but not with my camera. As soon as I get them, I'll let y'all see!

Good news is we are almost done painting the hallway. I'd say about another hour. We won't start on the other rooms for a few weeks. I have some other projects I need to get done. Like printing wedding pictures for grandparents, finishing my thank you cards, preparing for my booth at Woofstock in 2 weeks, finish stripping/refinishing the dressers that I started this summer, payroll taxes, picking out our TTD pictures, mailing the chess pieces to Michelle, and paying bills. All that got put aside while I was doing the hallway.

In my excitement over my TTD shots....

I went to redenvelope.com to look at the collage's I've been drooling over. Well, they are on SALE!! What perfect timing. So, instead of getting ready for work, I just spent $300. Of course, I have the pictures to fill them. I love how I can rationalize things.

(I hope DH doesn't read this!)

One of these.

Two of these.

And two of those.

I feel a lazy day....but I have to leave soon :(

So, today I got out of bed around 9 am. It was soooo nice!! After enjoying 2 beers last night and uploading new music.

Well, I don't know about you all, but on the top of my list of things to do after I get out of bed, is to check my email. Nothing to interesting. I go to check my junk mail.......I have to look in their because something business requests end up there. I see this in one of the subject lines "Pictures from XXX and
XXX xxxx are ready to view" It's from Pictage. I think, " I don't know what that is" I'm about to empty my junk folder, and instead I look at that email.

OMG!! It's all of our TTD shots!!!!!! All 772 of them! It took an hour, but I got through them. I have no idea how I'm going to choose.
For you nesties, I posted the link on ND. Looking through them was like reliving the day!!

I really need to go get in the shower now. I have 2 kitty sits, then have to work 1-5 today.
I promise I will try to remember to put my memory card in my camera and get some shots today.

No pictures for today.

I was so proud of myself this morning. I actaully remembered my camera to take pictures of all the doggies and kitties. Well, the part that I forgot was the memory card which is still in my computer. Duh!

So, no pictures for today. Maybe tomorrow.

Good news is that I don't have any sits tonight, so if I want a beer, I can have one!!
DH found this website that you can upload a picture of your walls and it puts whatever colors on it. We'll see if it works like it says....and then maybe we'll finally pick a color for our hallway. Then maybe we can finally paint it and get our house back in order.

For those that don't know me that well, I have a little OCD issue when it comes to things not being where they are supposed to be. And right now I'm going crazy.

What will I do today?

Well, I have an early morning sit. The same one that I showed the picture for last night. His name is Jack. His mommy has put so much work into him. He was found at some junkyard place in MO. He was quite the wild thing from what I was told. He still can be, but his mommy has trained him well. He is such a joy.

He has 2 toys, "stick" and "donut". He prefers stick, but we play with both. I make him stay, then I go hide one or both toys, then tell him which one to go find. It's so much fun!!

Then I get to run home, shower and get ready for my office job. I will be there from 8-12. After I get off, I have 3 kitty sits to do and stop at Lowe's to get some more primer. Then I get to have lunch.

Around 4 pm, I get to go see Jack again. Him mom will be home later tonight, so that will be my last visit.

I'll get home around 5 pm, to cook supper and then hopefully we can prime the walls. We'll have to make sure the ceiling is dry enough first.

I need to take pictures of all my kitties today......maybe I'll have time to post them tonight. I think that will become a new regular part of my blogging, talking about my day and posting pix of the great doggies and kitties I get to play with.

( I love it when I hit 'check spelling' and it tells me 'no mispellings found')

AHR...Pictures!!

The boys in DH's family, his dad's side.
Our friends.

I'm trying to enjoy a bite
DH's moms' side
The boys in DH's dads' side and thier wives.

No pro pix for this. Just a bunch of random shots by my daughter. We had a great time, then went out for kareoke!

Hopefully I'll find some good pictures of DH and I together.....

This was the day after. Of his mom's side.
His grandpa is fighting cancer, this may be the last family shot we get.

Way bigger project than expected

I always do this. I think I can get something done in a certain amount of time, and I ALWAYS underestimate. The only thing I got done on Saturday was scraping the ceiling. Of course, if I didn't have to leave every couple hours, I probably would have gotten more done.

So, on Sunday we putty the holes in the walls and ceiling, sandpaper them and all the walls (they had texture paint on them before) and clean them. That took all day.

I had one sit in the morning, and one in the afternoon. We also had to go get the kids from their dads.

On Monday, we relaid the floor covers taped stuff up, and primed the ceiling and small areas on the walls. Then it was bedtime.

Before house time, I worked that morning, had one kitty sit, took Sebastian to the vet, and dropped my son off for scouts.

On Tuesday we actually got to paint. We painted the ceiling. That was it. Then it was bedtime. We really couldn't paint the walls because we the ceiling was wet and we couldn't tape it.

He's painting so fast, you can hardly see the roller.

Before house time, I had a Dr. appt, 2 kitty sits, and worked in the afternoon.

On Wednesday, I get to relax! We're afraid the ceiling might not be dry enough to start on the walls. And honestly, I haven't even picked the color. But, we do have to prime it first.

I worked this morning, had 2 kitty sits, and a dentist appt. I have one bedtime doggy to take care of tonight. If I didn't have that, I would be enjoying a nice cold one right now.

This is the doggy I get to play with tonight!

Painting....we finally started (and steaks)

So, last weekend was busy. I had 9 sits to do that day. So, I got up around 6:30, did 2 sits, went to Home Depot to get supplies. When I got home around 10, I laid the black tarp stuff down on the floors and started scraping the ceiling. I decided since I was painting, I might as well get a flat ceiling. You see, we have those 'cottage cheese' or 'popcorn' ceilings. And I HATE those!

Boy, did I make a mess. I got about half the hallway done, then it was time to do my lunch time sits, 3 of them. I got home around 2, and scraped away at the ceiling. The mess just got bigger and bigger. Now it's time for my supper time sits, 2. I get home around 6. The ceiling is done and it's clean up time. So, I get everything cleaned up.

You might be asking where is DH in all of this? Well, last weekend when we came home, we noticed the gutter on one side of the house had fallen down. The wood that the gutter was nailed into was rotted. So, on Saturday DH was outside with his dad replacing the wood. Total cost? $100.00 They had to get all new wood, sealant, primer and paint. Of course the sealant takes a few days to dry. So, we just have wood put up, not painted and no gutter. It's only one side of the house though.

So, after we get done cleaning up our projects, we decide we are in need of some food and alcohol. Of to Texas Roadhouse. The best steak in town.

You would think living in Kansas with all these wonderful cows around that we'd have lots of good steak places. Right? Wrong!! There are only 2 places in town that I will eat steak.
The worst steak I've ever had was actaully in Vegas. Gross! Wish I could remember the name of the place to warn y'all. It's on the old strip, or old downtown, whatever it's called.
The best place I've ever had steak was in New York. Gosh, that was good. I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it. Are there cows in New York? Or does their meat come from Kansas? Now that would be funny!

Ok, back to painting. So, on the way to Texas Roadhouse, we stopped for another sit. DH usually waits in the car when I do this. It saves time to just do them on the way to wherever we are.
And after we ate, we stopped for my last sit of the day, then went home and crashed.

One, two, three, four

The IPOD commercial makes me giddy every time I see it. Why? Because it's the song that our TTD photogs used for our slide show!

So, I decided I needed it for my new ring tone. After a quick Google search I was able to find the name/artist, and YAY!! I now have a new ring tone.
However, I could never make out all the words, and now that I have them.......well, you tell me what you think.

one, two, three four
tell me that you love me more
sleepless, long nights
that was what my youth was for
oh teenage hopes are lying at your door
left you with nothing,
but they wanted more.
oh, oh, oh,
you're changing your heart.
oh, oh, oh,
you know who you are.
sweetheart, bitter heart,
now i can't tell you apart.
cozy and cold,
put the horse before the cart.
those teenage hopes,
through our tears and the lies.
too scared to run off,
to one little life.
oh, oh, oh,
you're changing your heart.
oh, oh, oh,
you know who you are.
one, two, three, four, five, six, nine, and ten.
money can't buy you back the love that you had then.
one, two, three, four, five, six, nine, and ten.
money can't buy you back the love that you had then.
oh, oh, oh,
you're changing your heart.
oh, oh, oh,
you know who you are.
oh, oh, oh,
you're changing your heart.
oh, oh, oh,
you know who you are.

I HATE COX!!

Ha! After I typed that I realized it could take on a whole other meaning...

Anyways.......
Our internet is through cox. I don't know that I have many other options for this, especially when our phone and cable it also through cox.
Well, my internet is down frequently. We have that high-speed, high tech crap. Did I ever say I married a geek? Anyways, so whatever we have in the house is up-to-date and great. So, I wonder why we have issues? It's not our equipment.

After months of calling cox and having random service guys come look at our stuff.......they finally told us that we are the last of the last. Meaning the box thingy that we get our internet from has like a line system. Someone is first, then there's lots of other people, then you have us. We are the end of the line. What does that mean? It means that if alot of other people are using their internet, our signal sucks!!!

But, we pay the same amount as those other people. Therefore, I am pissed! As I'm typing this right now, blogger is telling me "could not contact Blogger.com" Saving and publishing may fail"
You have no idea how many times I type something, only to hit post, and get the "internet explorer can not display the webpage"I just attempted 4 times to post on Courtney's blog. Those poor horses.

Ok, I have learned some things from this. If you are typing alot, copy and paste it to a notepad. That way you don't have to start over, or worse, try to remember what the hell you were trying to say. Speaking of which, I'm running to save this right now. Love the control A, control C, control V options!

Anyways.....after months of those guys doing nothing but telling us we were SOL, last night DH was finally trying to do some work online. Note that when I'm trying to work online, it's ok. But, since it was him, he was irate! He called them and demanded that we do not pay for a service we are not getting. So, last night they stopped charging us for internet, and will start again in Thursday night when the service guys can come out. And I imagine every time we get dropped, we will be calling telling them to stop charging. Hopefully now they will do something!

Will this post? Am I back online??

Nope. I'll try later. Right now it's time to listen to my son read a book about sharks.

(note: I tried to post this from 8 pm until 10 pm last night. I finally gave up and went to bed)

How did I get my new job?

Well, I'm convinced I owe it all to my knottie friend, Marcie. She did my resume. She does this as a side business.
http://www.resumebee.com/

It's been a long time since I've had an office job. I've been doing things such as corrections officer, drug/alcohol counselor, group home supervisor, mental health worker, etc....
How was I going to get back into the accounting field? I had no idea. I started my college career in accounting, but thought it was boring. Hence my switch to criminal justice. If I only knew......

But, I'm back in baby!!
Thanks Marcie!!!

I have a new job!!

Ok, so I'm sure you're wondering why I would have a new job, when I own my own business. Well, sometimes business just isn't going well. I need some guaranteed income. So, I've been long searching for the perfect job. I finally found it!! I have a part-time bookkeeping position with a small law firm. I can go in around my pet sitting schedule!! It's wonderful! I've only been there for 3 days, but I love it! The gals are great to work for. It's a kind of law I'm not really versed in, but I can learn. ( my degree is in Criminal Justice)

For those of you who don't know.......When I first started my business, I had 2 part-time jobs, which eventually turned into 3. So, last year I basically had 4 jobs. In August of last year, I quit one, and quit the other 2 in November. My thought was I could live off my pet sitting income. And for awhile I could. But then, 3 of my very regular clients moved and I have not been able to replace them. So, off to a new job working for someone else.

(sorry, no new pictures!)

Done with the dress

We had our reception last night. It was wonderful! The dress was clean :)
We had about 60 people show up; my mom, all DH's family, a few co-workers and our friends. My family apparently doesn't like to travel. I swear none of them ever go anywhere! When I lived there I couldn't wait to get out of that town!
We had it at a Mexican restuarant (wanted to keep the theme going).
Afterwords we went out with our friends for a night of kareoke. I think the dress has served it's purpose. I've worn it 3 times now, and every time I was excited to get into it. But, after the reception, I couldn't wait to get out of it. Everyone wanted me to wear it out on the town, (i'm sure so they could get free drinks), but I went home and changed. It was hot and heavy.
It's new home is on top of my son's bunk bed. Lord knows how long it will stay there until I decide what to do with it. Will I preserve it? Or sell it?? I could donate it. I'll have to do some more research on that. I heard somewhere you can donate it and the proceeds go to breast cancer research. Or something like that. Can anyone help me out here?

I'll talk some more about our AHR after I get the pictures uploaded.

TTD Video!!

Can I just say how great these guys are?!?!?!? Our reception is this weekend. We did the TTD around 3 weeks ago, and they ALREADY have our video done!!!! So, we get to show it off at the reception!
(let's just hope my dress is cleaned by then and it will all be perfect!)

Scroll done towards the bottom of their blog to see our video! It's absolutely amazing! You can't leave comments on their blog, but feel free to give them some love on my blog. They will be reading it!!

Be sure to have your volume on!

Need your help!

Ok, so I'm determined to start painting rooms again. We had a horrible experience with the kitchen and took some time off........but it's time to go again.
First place is the entry/hallway. What color should I use?
Here are some pictures to help you decide. Please don't judge the mess, we're cleaning......(the picture frames for our wedding pictures, and I'm throwing old magazines away.....)

This is the veiw from our living room into the entry.

This is the end of the hallway, towards the entry.

This is the entry into the living room

The kitchen into the entry/hall way.

Our new rug in the living room. Basing our new color scheme off of this. browns, greens, and a sky blue.

Thank you cards

Well, it took awhile, but here they are. (I hope)

Our reception is next week!! So far 50 people have RSVP'd.

Oh, and since we realized all these people would probably want to see our house, we started buying stuff off our registry! We got a new rug, a purse organizer, some photo frames. Still looking for a new shoe organizer.
I'll get some pictures after we're done moving stuff around.

And, I've spent the day making these..........

This one for my MOH.

And this one for my MIL.

I plan on making one for FIL, BIL, Mom and my kids. But, the program is so slow that my patience is gone for today. I'll have to wait for another day....
