Weight loss

Remember when I was sick? Didn't think so, as it was a month ago. But, I was never able to get back on track with eating right and working out. I've gained 5 pounds.

I weigh in every Thursday. Last Thursday hit me hard, two weeks in a row with a gain. So, I worked out twice that day. Friday I worked out, and I've been eating better.

Plus, I've GOT to win that fitness challenge! We could win tickets to Vegas!! 4 women in Vegas? Yeah, you better look out!!

I'm determined to get better.

In order to do this, I can't sit around on my computer. Between the kids stuff, school, work, exercise, gardening, reading..........wait, reading? What's that? Yeah, that's gone to to the wayside too.

Anyways........I'm going to be exercising everyday, and eating better.

I just got my butt kicked!!

Thanks Jillian! I think.

It was only a 20 minute workout, but my goodness it was hard!

I guess there are 3 different workouts, and you're supposed to be able to do level 3 by the end of the 30 days. I had to stop a couple times in level 1, so I don't see how I'll be doing level 3 anytime soon. I'm going to try to stick with it and do this for 30 days straight. I'm also doing my Elliptical machine at least 3 times a week, and the Ab Lounger 5 days a week.

So far, since I started Jenny Craig, I have lost 17 pounds! I'm now at my half-way point for my goal!!

I started Jenny Craig in October, and just started exercising in late December. So, I can definitely say the the JC program has helped tremendously. I have a friend doing it also, she has lost 60 pounds in 6 months. She started exercising in the beginning and has kicked some serious butt!! Congrats A!!

My progress with Jenny Craig

This is going very well!!

Another thing I need to do during my winter break is get into the habit of exercising! I have NOT been doing that.

Just by eating their food I have lost around 15 pounds. My goal is 35 pounds, I'm almost halfway there!! I average about 2 pounds per week.

I'm sure once I start exercising, things will go along faster.

Jenny Craig

I started the program yesterday. So far the food tastes great. They put me on the 1200 calorie meal. I think I was doing around 3-4,000 before. I never really paid attention and I know my portions were way to large.

Yesterday was a decent day. I pretty much stuck to the menu, except there was some cookie dough in the fridge that I couldn't resist. I also played Tennis. DH used to play all the time, but that was a first for me. I wanted to go again today, but he says it is to windy. So, we're heading off to buy him a Racquetball racket and we'll play that instead.
I think those are easier for me because they really don't seem like the dreaded 'exercise'. And I tend to be pretty competitive.

Sorry, I've teased you with my new camera and not put up any pictures from it! Things have been busy with my schoolwork and the kids.
Daughters volleyball tournament started today, so we'll be doing that all next week.

Sparkpeople.com

I used this when I had a health scare a couple years ago. I was pretty good for awhile, but then got too busy to keep up. It really helped me in terms of eating habits.

You have to log everything you eat. The cool thing is that so many people use this site, that everything I eat has already been entered. Meaning, I just have to click on what I ate, and it already knows all the nutritional stuff. It will show you how many calories, fat, carbs, protein, and cholesterol you took in for the day. It's nice to see it all put together. You can also edit, so if you want to eat something, you can put it in and see how it will affect your day. A very nice deterrent.

You can also set workout goals and track them. You get points for reading articles, tracking your goals, entering the food you ate and posting on the forums.

I've found a forum for hypothyroidism. It's nice to see that I am not the only one struggling with my weight. I have to watch what I eat and workout just to MAINTAIN my weight!! If I want to loose, I have to kick ass. It's very frustrating to see other's progress when I'm stuck at the same. But, this forum has helped me to see other's face this too.

Anyways, I'm ready to KICK ASS now. I did loose 10 lbs before the wedding, but gained 7 of it back by Christmas time. I blame part of that on my new job and the candy bowl. But, I haven't touched that in a couple months, so I'm ready to get back on track now.

I just visited sparkpeople.com for the first time in almost a year. I reset some of my goals and I'm ready to go!! Look for progress posts!!
